Universiti Malaya Medical Centre Virtual Ward – UMMC innovation, National Transformation |
UMMC’s digital transformation journey began in 2013 with the home-grown development of its electronic medical record system. Over the past decade, this has evolved into a comprehensive Total Hospital Information System through the design and integration of digital solutions across the patient journey, hospital operations, research and workforce development. This digital ecosystem enabled the development of Malaysia’s first hospital led Virtual Ward, delivering acute hospital-level care through remote patient monitoring, teleconsultation and multidisciplinary specialist oversight. Since its launch in 2024, the Virtual Ward has cared for almost 300 patients and is now helping to shape the national Hospital-at-Home agenda. This demonstration illustrates how home-grown innovation at UMMC has evolved from institutional digital transformation into a catalyst for healthcare transformation across Malaysia.

Mars Compute: A Spinoff for Autonomous AI Compute Optimization System |
Mars Compute is a spinoff developing an autonomous AI compute optimization system that automatically identifies, generates, and deploys high-performance kernels across diverse hardware backends. The demo showcases an end-to-end workflow that profiles AI workloads, detects bottlenecks, applies automated kernel and runtime optimizations, and validates performance improvements. By reducing manual engineering effort and improving hardware utilization, Mars Compute aims to accelerate AI deployment while lowering compute cost and energy consumption.

AURA Scholar: AI-Tutor in UM’s Learning Management System |
AURA Scholar is an AI-tutor natively integrated within the university’s Learning Management System that acts as a pedagogical facilitator to enhance the student and educator experience. The platform features a frictionless entry point embedded directly within the existing learning environment, a Socratic chat interface where learners can ask questions and are guided to answers through probing questions rather than direct solutions, and a modular configuration environment for educators. Faculty have full control to define the AI’s behaviour, pedagogical guardrails, and syllabus-specific knowledge boundaries through administrative toggles, without requiring any programming expertise. The demo showcases an application of a faculty member implementing the AI tutor, demonstrating how the platform delivers personalized, curriculum-aligned academic support while maintaining strict educator oversight.

ScholAIstic: An Educator Friendly Generative AI Platform for Learning |
ScholAIstic is an educator-friendly generative AI platform developed by AICET (the AI Centre for Educational Technologies) at NUS. It enables educators to create their own AI-powered learning activities, from AI tutors to role-play simulations.
Students can practise skills and explore concepts in a safe, structured environment, while educators can see how students engage with the task. ScholAIstic has been used across NUS disciplines, including Medicine, Dentistry, Law, Social Work, Business, and Computing. Beyond NUS, it has also been used by other educational institutions and public-sector agencies in Singapore. This demo showcases how the platform supports scalable practice, visibility into students’ learning processes, and personalised feedback.
